The pores in the ultrafiltration filters in our other products are small enough to catch viruses, but you need a pump to force water through. The Lifeline relies on the user sucking water up through the filter with their mouth - almost impossible to do with a virus filter. Even when using a Squeeze Pouch, the amount of pressure you'd need to force water through a virus filter would probably split the seams.
